September 1913, Covent Garden, London. Wimpole Street, near the Higgins residence…
Mrs. Eynsford-Hill. In her mid-50s, recently widowed. Her family lost money after her husband’s death and so now they are only referred to as “aristocrats” out of respect for their family name. The widow has two children. Freddy Eynsford-Hill, the rightful yet lazy heir and the young Clara.
Mrs. Hill tries to keep up her good image in the society (failing miserably as reported by her neighbors). She has quite the temper especially with her youngest child.
Offensive at times while seemingly good-natured. Quite tight with Mrs. Higgins and seen in many of the latter’s at-homes.
Lady,Mother. Obnoxious, offensive, social.
“I hope you won’t begin using that expression, Clara.”
“Oh, we are so poor.”
“There is so much influenza about!”
