Agapi Charitaki started her studies at the department of English Language and Literature in the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2012. She graduated in 2016 and later on completed her Master’s Degree in English Literature in the European University of Cyprus. She has been working as an English teacher ever
She joined the Drama Club in 2013 because she is a curious person and loves exploring new territories. She instantly fell in love with theater. She likes reading and making puzzles, loves detective lit and the classics. She loves singing even though she has a terrible voice. Will that stop her? Don’t think so.
She currently lives in her hometown, Heraklion Crete and enjoys long walks near the sea. She is a volunteer in the non-profit organization Make a Wish and her next step is to gain some horse-back riding skills! She can’t choose a favourite author, let alone a favourite quote.

Iiana has completed her BA studies at the Department of English Language and Literature of the University of Athens (2015-2019). Her lifelong love for theater and performance, as welll as her interest in connecting and collaborating with other creative people led her to become a member of the drama club from her very first year of studies. In fact, she made some of her closest friends within this community. She is passionate about artistic experimentation, pushing cultural and artistic boundaries beyond nomrativity and the commercial spectacle and perceives theater to be a medium that can engender sociopolitical change. Her interest in the impact and role of art as an anti-establishment force led her to pursue a Master's degree in Arts and Society at the University of Utrecht.
She currently lives and studies in Amsterdam. She enjoys reading fiction and non-fiction as well as poetry and she occasionally writes. She always tries to discover new underground music and arthouse films. She loves dodgy squatted bars that sell cheap beer and she pretends she lives in the 60's-70's.

Evangelia Mourtzanou started her studies at the department of English Language and Literature in the University of Athens in 2014. She joined the drama club in 2015 because a) she heard about it from Mr. Blatanis (aka the best source of theatrical knowledge!) and b) she wanted to learn more about theatre and engage more with this aspect of English literature.
She likes to read novels and expand her level of understanding, while drinking a cup of coffee. She enjoys exploring new places and meeting new people while admiring the sunsets or the stars in the city. She also tries to help people in need and the environment by voluntarily taking part in various events.
She would like to pursue an academic career and become like the professors she admires. Having finished her undergraduate studies in 2018, she continued her academic path by completing two Master’s programs. Last but not least, she always keeps in her heart the very first encounter with the English drama, back in 2015.

She joined the drama club in 2016 because she always wanted to attend a drama club. She loved the study of classic plays and the process of staging them. Giorgos started studying Biology in the University of Athens in 2015. Taking part in Porta theatre’s studio throughout his entire childhood and adolescence, he joined the drama club in late 2016 after being invited by a friend, looking for a chance to keep his drama hobby going. The drama club experience offered him much more than the opportunity to work on the art he admires, since he had some amazing new experiences and got to meet heaps of artistic people. Although not so confident on acting himself, he found happiness in directing and truly enjoyed learning and observing other drama club members, actors, directors and writers
An avid naturalist, he spends most of his time in the wild nowadays, finding peace in the wild and exploring nature photography, along with continuing his studies on Animal Behaviour abroad. The opportunity to properly enjoy a theatrical play is rare nowadays, let alone participate in a drama club. However, his mind keeps him busy and once in a blue moon he experiments with writing. The result may not be that good, but rest assured; his memories within the drama club still offer him a great deal of material for paper and soul alike.

Madalena has always loved theatre. Having enjoyed the drama club's performance of Our Town, she finally decided to join in 2016, when she was in her third year of studies. Becoming a member was one of the best decisions she made. Meeting fellow students from different years and working with them on improvisation games and eventually on amazing creative projects really boosted her confidence. Every play was a team effort and she's proud to have been a part of It's All a Spectrum and A Midsummer Night's Dream. The drama club gave her opportunities to be proactive and discover new aspects of English Literature and herself. The rehearsals are some of her fondest memories from her undergraduate studies and she's grateful for the people she met, some of whom became lifelong friends.
After A Midsummer's Night Dream, armed with all the courage and magic the experience entailed, Madalena moved to Glasgow, Scotland, to follow her own dream: study a Masters in Fantasy Literature. Apart from theatre, her interests include reading, drawing, anime and language learning.
She is currently working at the University of Glasgow as a Reach OutAmbassador - helping students at a new learning hub - and as a freelance writer. She is also working on her fantasy novel, a story that involves a troupe of actors and some ghosts.

She first joined the English Department Drama club in 2016 because she always had a deep love for theatre and the English language. And indeed, it was the best decision of her life! Through acting in the play It’s All a Spectrum and directing the performance of Twelve Angry Men, Sapfo found a new perspective on her studies, which combined her creativity and her need to belong. Even after Erasmus internships, graduations, and hard goodbyes, Sapfo will always return to the drama club fondly, and to the life-long friendships she formed during her time there.
In her free time, Sapfo writes poetry in the WASP literary magazine of the university of Warsaw and volunteers for Athens Pride. Who knows where you will find her next, hopefully somewhere with a stage or somewhere scribbling nonsense.

She also helped write and direct some parts throughout the years. Then, when the time came and she graduated in 2019, she was accepted in G. Theodosiadis' Athens Drama School.
It's also worth noting that she loves to read and write, she likes to dance -although even after 7 years of learning ballet and contemporary dance she has kind of forgotten how-, and she speaks some Japanese.

Jimmy J. Jimmyson was born in 1854, in a land far, far away (somewhere in a small gothic town of England, actually). He grew up in a family of artists, the only one to have survived out of his 17 siblings. His father was a painter, but he soon succumbed to apple pie addiction, and his paintings never sold. Thus stricken by misfortune, Jimmy – a poet and avid coffee-lover – decided to travel the world with his father’s paintings upon his back, selling them in the streets of India and Cote d’Ivoire. It is there that some say he was bitten by a radioactive spider who turned him immortal with its poison. Others speak of a mysterious, handsome man, who left two very distinct markings on Jimmy’s neck and who still escorts Jimmy in every play. The word “vampire” is often whispered behind closed doors, but no one dares utter it in front of Jimmy. After all, no decent actor would ever want to lose Jimmy’s amazing coffee, nor the water bottles he brings backstage. But all who have ever met Jimmy can agree to this: he is very real and not made-up at all.

Angeliki's academic journey started in 2017 at the department of Preschool Education, in the University of Athens. That was also the year that she decided to join the drama club because of her interest in the field of acting. Now you may ask "why didn't she join her department's drama club?" and the answer is pretty simple: cause she loves English!
People's first impression of her is always "oh mah gad, you're so quiet" but she loves the look on their faces when she proves them wrong.
She is a free spirit and a curious human being. She claims that she wants to travel the world and one day live in Norway.
Some of her favourite pastimes include: dancing like nobody's watching, drawing, writing and reading motivational books. She also loves nature and volunteering. She has a yolo attitude and a passion for improving herself everyday, so that she can make a positive impact on the world (not the one she has built inside her head).

“Have some fire. Be unstoppable. Be a force of nature. Sometimes the future changes quickly and completely, and we are left with only the choice of what to do next; Wecan choose to be afraid of it, to stand there trembling not moving, assuming the worst that can happen or we can step forward into the unknown and assume it will be brilliant.”
-Dr. Yang
I started my studies at the department of English Language and Literature in 2017 and on the same year I joined the Drama Club thanks to Giota and Maria. I was a member of other drama societies as well, but this one was completely different than what I was used to. In this particular club, the members are responsible for everything. They direct, they play, they chose the music and the costumes, sometimes, they even have to buy lightbulbs for the stage lights, but this makes the whole experience even more meaningful. Members get to explore every aspect of theatre and they challenge themselves to learn more, to be more, to be accountable, to be a team. However, since this is not a professional drama club, the help of its creator Professor Blatanis is always appreciated; after all, he is the stricter judge and the one who will cheer us on the most.
I have a soft spot for the arts so that is why most of my courses are about theatre, poetry and literature. I performed in 12 Angry Men in 2018 and A Midsummer Night’s Dream in 2019. I have been acting since the age of 12 and apparently I have a tendency of portraying animals: pigs, ducks, donkeys –you name it! If I am not rehearsing, you can find me dancing and playing the drums with Batala Atenas, a percussion group with bands all over the world. On the third year of my studies I was in the Czech Republic through the Erasmus mobility programme, an “adventure” that changed my life. Sometimes, I become really strict in order to get the job done but I mean no harm and have always the best intentions in mind. There is always room to be a better person. Pretty good is not enough- I want to be great.

Anastasia was introduced to the beautiful world of English studies when she got into the English department of the University of Athens, in 2017. She hasn’t stopped reading literature and fangirling over authors and fictional characters ever since. She also adores theatre and performing and that was the reason why she decided to join her department’s drama club, having the chance to take part in the play ‘’12 angry men’’.
She is torn between her interest for cognitive linguistics and phycology and her love for literature and character analysis and therefore she wishes that one day she will be able to combine them both and further research the subject of phycological analysis of literary characters. Her Erasmus semester turned out to be the best six months of her life and she now aims to extend this extraordinary experience by taking every chance to travel and discover the beauty of different cultures. Eventually, she would love to study and live abroad, with France and Ireland holding a special place in her heart. She loves to party, but she is also a sucker for tea, Christmas lights and historical romantic films.
Dimitra entered the English Language and Literature department in 2017. She felt really glad and blessed about it but her excitement became greater when she became a member of the department’s Drama Club in the same year, making that one of the best experiences in her life.
She took part in two productions, 12 Angry Men (2018) and A MIdsummer Night’s Dream (2019).
She has been always interested in arts. Ever since she she can remember herself, she has been singing or trying to make music. She has always loved theatre and acting as well. In her free time, she likes writing poems and lyrics. She loves reading books and going to the cinema. She is a proud Gryffindor and always in for Harry Potter Marathons. Besides, she enjoys walking by the nature. Something that people should definitely know about her is that she always forgets to to charge her phone. Literally, FORGETS it. Eleni Kouroutidou began her studies at the department of English Language and Literature of UoA in 2015. She had already decided to pursue acting and singing from a very young age, so she was determined to follow her passion in creating art. That's why she not only picked mostly Literature and Theatre classes, but she finally decided to give it a try at the department's Drama Club in 2016. There, she found her strengths and weaknesses, she made friends, she figured out a lot about herself and the world; however, she still has a long way to go. In 2017, she played the role of Nora in Pendleton King's one-act play Cocaine; in 2018, she was Juror No.3 in Reginald Rose's 12 Angry Men; and in 2019 she revisited William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, this time not as Helena (from her high school adaptation in 2013), but as Titania. She also helped write and direct some parts throughout the years. Then, when the time came and she graduated in 2019, she was accepted in G. Theodosiadis' Athens Drama School.
It's also worth noting that she loves to read and write, she likes to dance -although even after 7 years of learning ballet and contemporary dance she has kind of forgotten how-, and she speaks some Japanes

She also writes, draws, plays TTRPGs and recreationally annoys her pets (And yes, she ‘s a kpop stan.).

Elena Meimari started her English Language and Literature studies in 2014 and graduated in February 2019. She joined the drama club in 2017 and then again in 2019. In fact, by the time 2019's play was performed, she had already graduated. So why did she skip 2018? I wish I had some tea to spill, but the truth is she was just doing her Erasmus in France.
She's always loved theatre and aspires to be an actress, which is why she joined in the first place. The drama club has been one of the highlights of university life for her and she's eternally grateful for the people she met along the way. As of October 2019, she studies acting in "Technon Ek

Stavrina started roaming around the maze-like building of the School of Philosophyas a student at the English Language and Literature Department (NaKUoA) in September 2017. It was a year later, in 2018, when, after having watched the plays performed by the Drama Club in June 2017 and in June 2018, she decided to join the team. There she had the opportunity to improve her writing skills as a member of the script-writing team, put her acting skills to the test for the first time, and take one step closer to the enchanting world of theatre by getting an inside look into it, a view -as she tends to believe- that further renewed her perspective.
When she’s not ‘‘busy’’ watching plays, she likes listening to music, reading, as well as experimenting with writing. She also enjoys long walks in the city and capturing night-time vignettes of its streets and people through the lens of her senses and mind. Volunteering takes up an important amount of her time, too.
She doesn’t know what she wants to do when she graduates, but this road lies in the future and she’d rather stick to the present and enjoy her amble as a final year student. Her only scenario for the future is to do a lot of road trips.

Chrysa Vlachouli is a student in the Department of English Language and Literature since 2019. She became a member of the Drama Club the same year. In “My Fair Lady” she plays the role of Mrs. Hall.
She’s taken interest in theatre and drama since childhood, participating in various school productions and would like to keep pursuing it.
She enjoys bad horror films and getting attached to fictional characters. In her free time she likes listening to music, talking to her friends and baking. She wants to learn many skills and languages but has neither the time nor the patience to do that.

Andreas entered the Department of English Language and Literature in 2019 and starting his first year he also joined the Drama Club as theatre, amongst other things, is what he loves to do. The feeling that he gets on stage cannot be compared to anything else.
Other things that he likes doing (to make life make some sense) are reading, cooking, binge-watching TV series, traveling on a low budget, learning random but cool facts that nobody else finds interesting and spending quality time with people.
He’s really passionate about human rights and social justice and he finds his way to help people through activism. When he is old he aspires to be able to communicate in as many languages as possible and to have travelled the whole world.
An oxymoron to describe his life could be “an organized mess” as he’s too anxious to leave things go their way but such a big procrastinator at the same time.

Alexandra joined the Club in October 2020. Theatre and Drama enthusiast (obvi), keeps buying more books without finishing the ones she owns, will listen to heavy industrial metal and greek entechno music back to back, too geeky for the normals, not geeky enough for the pros, considers arm-wrestling to be a valid form of flirting, humour can cure everything (strugglingTM), expert procrastinator (is that even a word), will sometimes write stuff when not too busy procrastinating, runs on coffee, dry wit and sheer determination.

Marina Efstathia is a Psychology Student of the UoA. She’s a member of the Drama Club of the English Department since 2019. She played the role of Helena in the Midsummer Night’s Dream’s adaptation of the same year.
She’s passionate about mental health, human rights and eco-friendly lifestyle. Occasionally she’s a poet, writer, actress, yogi and loves spending hours (days if we ‘re being honest) binging series.
She believes that life itself is art and tries to live by that rule, engaging in as many activities as she can. Her favorite way to pass time is in the company of a good book and a nice hot cup of tea. Her biggest nuisance is that there’s always too much to do and too little time.
