Maid
September 1913, Covent Garden, London. Wimpole Street, near the Higgins residence…
Alice Andrews (House Maid). A 16 year old house maid, that has been taking care of Mr. Higgins’ home for over a year now. Quite a social being, from a poor family but very well-bred. Her duties include cleaning, cooking, grocery shopping, preparing tea and setting tables allocating people to their seats and Mrs. Higgin’s at-homes, reading to her mistress by the lamplight at nights and… dealing with Mr. Higgins’ tantrums herself. She is quite the gossip girl of the block, and keeps all the other maid informed on current events. However no one can get a word from her about Miss Doolittle and that, our friends, says a lot.
