We chose Thornton Wilder's "Our Town" to present, with the purpose of studying our own role as students in a university of human studies, as well as realise our position as active members of a society that is facing, for many years now, a multi-faceted crisis. With a subject concerning the daily life of the citizens of a small town of New England in the beginning of the 20th century, Wilder's play is a testimony to the importance of humanity, as it underlines in an innovative way even the smallest instances of our existence and carefully assesses our ability to keep going, despite all sorts of obstacles and unimaginable difficulties. At the same time, the play shows, in an imaginative way, the ability of the theater to train people to "see"  how important it is to always adopt the appropriate view of themselves and others. For all these reasons, this play explores, beyond a set script, the advantages of an empty stage and pantomime.
